I’m excited to share our snorkeling gear for kids reviews! We live by the beach in sunny Southwest Florida, so we’re on the beach multiple times per week, and our kids love all water activities. Naturally, snorkeling comes into play.
Whether you’re going on a legit snorkeling trip or just playing around at the beach, having good snorkeling gear for kids is key. As a parent, you know that having any type of gear that doesn’t work well for your kids is no beuno, especially when they are excited to try it. Things can go downhill, quick, am I right? Let’s avoid that and get the good snorkel equipment, folks.
Now, let’s dive in and learn about the best snorkel gear to invest in for your kids.
Our Top 2 Snorkeling Gear for Kids Reviews
I have some of my top pics below that would be a good option for older kids or younger kids. I’m going to give you the disclaimer now to always have your kids in a life jacket when they are snorkeling, even for the most advanced snorkelers. To be honest, my kids do not wear life jackets when snorkeling at the beach, but I gave you the disclaimer, so do what you will. We live in SWFL where there are rarely ever any waves, it’s basically a lake in the Gulf of Mexico, and my kids swim like fish.
Kids Snorkel Mask

This is one of the great full face masks for kids of all ages that I recommend. I will say, at first my kids didn’t love them because they had to get used to the feeling of it basically suctioning to your full face. Once they did though, these have been great.
Your child doesn’t need to be a great swimmer or even a great snorkeler to wear this gear. I also love that this snorkel has a band with two quick release buckles which allows your child to remove the mask quickly in case of emergency. This snorkeling set is made with food grade silicone which helps prevent your child from having a reaction to the gear. I also love that the mask is anti-glare so it won’t make your child dizzy in the water and it also won’t distort their vision under that water.
Kids Snorkel Set

These are my kids’ favorite! My daughter actually wears the goggles all the time, even in our pool at home, without the mouth piece for snorkeling. So, there’s a win that these are multi-purpose!
I love that this mask is super durable with its tempered glass. It gives you the ability to be in deeper water and will protect your children from anything sharp hitting their face and having the mask burst open. It is a fairly cheap mask for everything you get and you can get it in different colors. It is great for children from 5-15 years old because it has an adjustable strap that adjusts to different sizes so you can invest in this mask and have it for a long time. The one-way purge valve is what, in my opinion, makes this high quality. If your child were to go below the waterline, the top float valve closes automatically so water doesn’t flow in. This makes it a lot safer because it makes sure that the child will not be choked by the water.
